Major new feature announced for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)!!!

The date can appear alongside the time in the menu bar!

(Hey, you gotta celebrate the small stuff too, eh?)

I've been using iStat Menus to accomplish that for ages. I'm sure that Snow Leopard's functionality will pale in comparison. :P

And the new MacBook Pros come with an SD card reader! Wow! How innovative! Of course, they got rid of the ExpressCard slot to do it. If you buy a ThinkPad you can get both in the same computer.

Oh, man, this is huge! It's one of my pet peeves about Mac OS X; annoys me every time I use an un-altered Mac.

This is the second time I've seen reference to this. I don't get it, I'm running 10.5 and my menu bar shows "Tue 2009-06-09, 9:04:49 AM".

If I go to System Preferences -> Date & Time -> Clock there's a slew of options for showing the date and time in the menu bar and how it should be displayed.

I'm obviously missing something here.

huh? i can do that now since 10.4. no add-on programs required.
